6. The Eiffel Tower
Obviously, the Eiffel Tower, and more specifically, the third platform of the Eiffel Tower has probably the best view over Paris. The view stretches for 70 km, as far as the outskirts of the French capital, Charles de Gaulle airport and even the countryside. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait for a very long time before you can actually get up there and enjoy the view.
5. Arc de Triomphe
The panoramic view from the platform of Arc de Triomphe displays the twelve avenues departing from the Place de l’Étoile and shows you just how amazing the architecture of Paris is. The viewing platform also offers a view over the whole Historic Axis, from the Louvre to the Grande Arche in the CBD of La Défense. Needless to say, the best time to appreciate this view is on a sunny day. If you have the chance to get there right before sunset, you will be absolutely spellbound by the view.
4. Sacre Coeur
The view of the Paris skyline from the top of the Montmartre Hill is one of the most reputed of the capital. A little-known fact is that you can actually enjoy a much better view from the dome of the Sacre Coeur, the late 19th-century church. The view from the external gallery is simply breathtaking and extends for over 30 km on a clear day.
Another church that offers a great view is the 14th century Notre-Dame. At 69 metres high, the South tower of Notre-Dame offers a magnificent view over West Paris (from the Eiffel Tower to La Défense and Sacré Cœur). You will also be able to enjoy the surprisingly greenish roof, as well the clocks and the thrilling gargoyles.
2. The Georges Pompidou Centre
Undoubtedly the reason for Le George’s fame is its superb view of Les Halles, the Marais, and Notre Dame. The famous restaurant, located at the top of the Pompidou centre, offers an unparalleled perspective of Paris’s winding streets and beautiful monuments. Furthermore, you’ll actually be able to enjoy the view while having a coffee.
1. Tour Montparnasse
The 210-meter tower definitely offers the most remarkable panoramic view of Paris covering a radius of approximately 40 km, plus you won’t have to stand in line for hours. Indeed, most tourists won’t come to this rather unattractive tower, not knowing the great view it offers.
